Come paint and play at The Center for Creative Arts. Each day features unique projects including cartoon drawing, watercolors, tempera, and clay, plus game time or outdoor recess.

Scott Clark


Scott Clark is a well-known jazz drummer, composer and band leader. We are honored to have Scott return to teach at The Center. His history as a drum teacher includes mentoring students for the drum line in marching bands, preparing them for jazz ensembles, and gearing them to rock any beat from classical music to grunge.

Kirsten Hemrich

Visual Art

Kirsten Hemrich's paintings have been exhibited regionally with an upcoming exhibition at the CICA Museum in Gimbo, South Korea while her editorial illustrations have been published in a handful of international magazines. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia and has worked with students of all ages. 

Sarah Douthwaite

Violin & Viola

Sarah Douthwaite is a highly accomplished violinist who has twelve years of violin performance experience and performs and records in the Richmond music community. Sarah's repertoire extends from classical to jazz, and she enjoys sharing her love of music with her students.

David Raposo


David Raposo has been studying solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire for a majority of his life. He has experience teaching students and adults of all levels, from beginners to highly advanced players.

Fall Music & Art Lessons 

The Center for Creative Arts will continue to offer private music lessons held in your home via zoom or facetime, and art classes where your child receives a weekly art lesson video, or can join interactive zoom classes.
