Brian Mahne is an accomplished pianist who is the Contemporary Worship Leader at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, where he directs over 30 musicians/singers, and sound technicians with the musical group "TestifyRVA."  Brian is an honors graduate of VCU's prestigious Jazz program, and is the Director of a 12 piece big band Big Ray & The Kool Kats, and bandleader of The Rootdowns.  He has performed with the VCU Jazz Orchestra, The RVA Big Band, the D.J. Williams Project and Modern Groove Syndicate.   He has opened for Dave Matthews, John Legend, and performed at the Kennedy Center and The U.S. Supreme Court! 

Brian teaches all ages and all skill levels for piano and voice. He has a strong background in various types of music  - Classical, Jazz, and Rock.  Students learn to read and write music,  and also play by ear via a strong foundation of music theory.
