
2025 Elementary Art Camps
The Center for Creative Arts, located in Richmond's West End, offers popular elementary art camps featuring small class sizes that focus on individual creativity as children explore art, and make new friends. Camps are taught by professional artists in a nurturing environment. Send a nut-free snack and a water bottle from home!

Shazam Super Hero Art!
June 2-6

Join superhero artists for a week of amazing projects. Together artists will create superhero clay action figures, murals, comic canvases, save the planet bottle planters and action-packed slime.

Naturally Inspired
June 9-13

Nature is full of inspiration and we will create works based on our observations! Create a framed butterfly, paint watercolor dragonflies, make a pressed foliage ornament, design a windchime from cans, and much more!

All Aboard! Travel to Africa, India & China!
June 16-20
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Campers will ride the multicultural train as they explore art from these three diverse areas. Two and three dimensional works of art will be created and a variety of mixed media will be explored as the children paint and collage elephants, tigers, pandas, peacocks, masks, textiles and more. Please note this is an afternoon camp.

Underwater Adventures!

Dive into a world of creativity by making unique pieces of art that capture the magical world beneath the waves! Campers will create an acrylic painting of a shark, design their own 3D fish tank, sculpt a duck pond out of clay, and make a watercolor koi fish painting.

Surf's Up Tropical Art

Splash into summer with tropical art projects. Experience sun, sand, and water during tropical art week! Artists will create tropical iridescent jelly fish, fruit garland, clay spiral shells, sand art medallions, and tropical sun catchers.

It's Not Junk! It's Art!

Recycling is not only good for the planet, it’s great for creativity! We will be painting bottles into colorful vases inspired by Picasso and Matisse; using cardboard and paint to create inspiring wall art; using magazines to create sculptural designs and more!!

Native American Art
July 21-25

Join us as we explore the rich history of indigenous people, the beauty of their beadwork, the practicality of a movable teepee home and the story telling in their woven blankets. Then create examples of your own! Campers will also be introduced to contemporary Native American artists and view dancers in traditional regalia.

Art Through the Decades

Step into a time machine of creativity while we explore the colorful, eclectic styles of the '60s, '70s, '80s and 90’s! Projects include drawing a lava lamp, a mixed media boombox, painting a disco ball, a printmaking piece inspired by Andy Warhol, and an acrylic painting of a neon sign.
