ABOUT​
Margaret received her Masters and Specialist degrees in Music Performance from the University of Michigan, and her Bachelors in music performance from Western Michigan University.
An active performer, Margaret is currently a Bass Clarinetist with the Virginia Symphony, and formerly held the position of 3rd/Bass clarinet with the Lima Symphony (2017-2020). She freelances across the country (most recently with Richmond Symphony, Virginia Symphony, the Virginia Opera, the Florida Orchestra and Charleston Symphony). Margaret has also performed extensively with various chamber music groups including Aepex Contemporary Ensemble (completing an Artist Residency and CD recording with them at Central Michigan University in 2019), ArcaSonica chamber ensemble and Contemporary Directions Ensemble to name a few.

Recently relocated to the Richmond area, Margaret comes to us with over 13 years teaching experience. She has taught private lessons, ensemble coaching and marching band sectionals for several school districts through out Southeastern Michigan. Margaret’s main goal as a teacher is to inspire a lifelong love of music. Lessons with her will address a student’s unique learning needs in a safe and supportive environment, while exposing and challenging them to new musical genres and ideas.
