Tatiana Tatum

    Piano

Tatiana Tatum earned her BA in Music from the Moscow Musical College, and her MA from the prestigious Russian Academy of Music in Moscow.  Tatiana has been teaching for almost 40 years.  Tatiana has taught at The Community School of  The Performing Arts at VCU and has worked as an accompanist for the Richmond Ballet.

Tatiana's students participate in the Richmond Music Teachers Association (RMTA) and the Virginia Music Teachers Association (VMTA) events. Some of those events are: Theory and Sightreading tests, Fall Festival, Bach Competition, Sonata & Sonatina Festival, and the Central District Audition which is a part of the VMTA competition.  In 2020 she received the Richmond Music Teachers Association Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding work as a piano teacher.

Teaching both adults and children of all levels, Tatiana believes in motivating her students by enabling them to play the music they love, while ensuring that they learn proper technique.
