Willie DE is a guitar teacher, singer-songwriter, and guitarist based in Richmond, Virginia. A graduate of the VCU Jazz Studies program, Willie helps students of all skill levels fast-track their progress, avoid bad habits, and overcome the frustrations of learning. His approach focuses on playing to each student’s strengths by building a repertoire of songs they love. Beyond guitar fundamentals and technique, his approach incorporates elements of music theory, songwriting, singing, ear training, and more.  Willie believes learning music should be joyful, balancing hard work and discipline with plenty of fun and lightheartedness.

Willie performs throughout Virginia and beyond as a solo-acoustic act, fronting his own band, playing rock music infused with folk, blues, and jazz. He also works as a guitarist for hire, covering a diverse range of styles for weddings, private events, and festivals. He has released three albums plus his latest EP, Sifaka Pt. 1 (2026).
