Children and Teen's Art Classes

The professional artists teaching at The Center focus on providing individualized attention to each student in a nurturing environment.  Group instruction is noted for the small class size that enables each student to develop his or her unique talents. Students may join our classes at any time, space permitting.  Video Art Lessons, and Zoom Room classes are great for individual families, and home school students!

Due to concerns about the Delta variant circulating at this time, most art classes are being offered via online video lessons, or as interactive live zoom room classes.  Art demonstration videos are sent to students each week that they can view through a Dropbox link on a laptop, phone, or tablet, whenever they like. Using materials they have at home students have created beautiful work this year including magnolia blossoms, red pandas, kittens in trees, robins in a nest with eggs, cherry blossoms at the Washington Monument and more.  Families send cell phone photos of the finished art for feedback and to put on our virtual bulletin board.  These fun video lessons can be done at anytime during the week, and are designed for children to create independently.

Several students have engaged in private zoom art lessons to develop particular interests or skills including fashion design and figure and portrait drawing.  Private half hour or hour zoom art instruction available upon request.

Interactive class students meet in our zoom room where the teacher guides them in each art project, and they enjoy virtual visits with their friends while they have fun creating!  As always, Center classes are tailored to the development of each individual student in a nurturing, non-competitive class. During this time of social isolation, live zoom room classes allow students to interact with each other while providing a creative place for self-expression that builds confidence and makes kids feel good.   Students can enroll on a pro-rated basis at any time if there is room in the class.  Virtual zoom classes have a small student/teacher ratio as they do when we are on-campus.

Fall Classes begin the week of September 13.  Students can join at any time on a pro-rated basis if there is space available.

“I have had an amazing experience with The Center, it taught me so much about art and techniques. I would recommend this center 100% if you want to learn art. So excited to be part of this journey, Mrs.Sue is very kind and helpful. Every session is different and all  kinds of art mediums like sketching, charcoal, oil pastels, acrylics and many more are used based on each individual's choice and comfort level. The teachers focus on every student and provide tips. The Center of Creative Arts will be a great tool for anyone who wants to join here.”

Student choice in subject matter enables personal connections to the lessons.  Two options are available - weekly lessons via videos, and interactive zoom classes.

Art videos are tailored for each age group and can be watched anytime during the week.  Photos are sent to the instructor for feedback.  The flexibility of the videos is a great option for busy families, homeschool, and learning pod groups.

Live zoom classes will also retain the small teacher/student ratio and focus on the individual student that Center Art classes are known for. Students meet in our zoom room where the teacher guides them in each art project, and they enjoy virtual visits with their friends while they have fun creating!  As always, Center classes are tailored to the development of each individual student in a nurturing, non-competitive class.  If a student misses a zoom class, they can request an art video lesson.
